Hey, you cool cats and kittens… remember my post last July on the Winter Film Awards International Film Festival (WFA)?
In addition to my being a former volunteer and submission judge for the festival, the team behind Production Junction agreed to sponsor the event and provide a rental gift certificate for one of the winning filmmakers!
The festival is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that supports artists from all over the world. This year’s participants came from 32 countries and 50% of the films were made by women while 54% were by or about people of color. It ran from February 20-29, 2020. And without further ado…
The winner is…
Jamaal Green, of Brooklyn, New York!
Jamaal’s title, Chronicles of the Good Reverend, won Best Web Series at the 2020 Winter Film Awards, and the $250 gift certificate from Production Junction!
Taking place on opposite sides of the Delaware River, it’s a tale of political and socioeconomic divides between people of the same class. An upsurge of bizarre homicides baffles authorities as a disturbing new drug leads to a multitude of overdose victims mysteriously washing ashore on the river banks of both sides.
